Choice-Based Art Education (CBAE)
- Respects the students as individual artists
- Draws inspiration from student interests and experiences
- Naturally scaffolds student learning and expectations
- Promotes deeper connections to the art process and product
The art room at OHS is set up with choices of centers, based on different art materials and mediums. We currently have four permanent centers: drawing, painting, sculpture and crafting (fiber arts & mixed media). Occasionally throughout the year new centers will be introduced on a temporary basis to further enrich your child’s art experience such as printmaking, mask-making, and pottery.
CBAE focuses on idea development and diversity in the art room and I am very excited to be working with each individual child as they navigate the many choices available!
